Peanut Butter

most people only know me by what they see

i’m the girl with a peanut butter scar

i guess willow trees weren’t meant for climbing

i’m the girl who is simply terrified of tornadoes

but fear only sparks more interest

i’m the girl in second grade who they called “curly top”

that loved writing poems all about clouds

eating plain hot sauce

and

billy joel

i’m the girl that bought a slack line she cant always cross

i’m the girl that can stand on her toes

but still cant do a handstand

i’m the girl who’s dad taught her to use the stars

she tried to counting them for countless nights

now she just wants to move to mars

i’m the girl that collects dead bugs

and

butterflies

i’m the girl that loves how the sunset

reflects from large windows

and

ignites the mountain top a bright bubbly pink

i’m the girl who believes crafts

and

some blue tunes are the best thing

to save a bad day

and

dancing crazy

helps when you’re feeling lazy

i’m the girl who loves running trails with bare feet

and only eats sushi with her bare hands

i’m the girl who’s favorite color is found on rocks

and

her bedroom walls

i’m the girl with charcoal covered hands

and

chalk covered jeans

with her head in the sky

and

her feet in some old dancing shoes

i’m the girl eating peaches in the school parking lot.

who loves almond milk

and

double chocolate chip

 cookies
